MICROMINE at the Minerals Week Modern Mining Showcase

The Minerals Councils “Minerals Week” has taken place this week with representatives from across the mining and resources industry travelling to Canberra to participate in the week-long event. Minerals Week is hosted by the Board of Directors of the Minerals Council of Australia and provides an opportunity to engage with decision makers in Canberra and discuss the future of mining in Australia.

MICROMINE participated in the activities, showcasing our mining software solutions at the Modern Mining Showcase event on Thursday the 14th. The event was held at the Parliament House Great Hall and included displays and demonstrations of mining technology being used today at Australian mine sites and universities including robotics, drones, data science, virtual and augmented reality.

MICROMINE was one of a select few of software providers invited to participate in the event which was a great opportunity to show the minerals sector how our solutions are assisting mining companies to optimise their operations.

University students from across the country were also in attendance at the event.

Micromine Special Project Manager Paul Hooykaas represented MICROMINE at the event and said it was great to engage with a cross-section of the minerals sector from private businesses through to government representatives.

“The Modern Mining Showcase was a great event and some of the technologies on display were really exciting. There was some interesting discussions had around mining innovation and what’s next for the industry.”
